The inspiration for this variation of my popular “Stained Glass” pattern came from seeing the unique Art Panels sold by Turtle Hand Batik. These Art Panels are individual hand-dyed works of art created by Malaysian artisans. I then moved my thinking in a different direction and used an African print to make this version. This design would also work well with hand-dyed fabric pieces.
This pattern maintains the artist’s interpretation while putting your own spin on it. In this version, the cutting is done in a particular order to keep the integrity of the panel. It is designed to appear as though you are looking at a scene through a “window ”, hence the name “Framed”. The sashing provides for visual contrast to the large panel.
