A new quilt design has hit the Quilting Fabrications website!
I designed Snowbirds for the large scale print that we fall in love with in the shops, then wonder what we are going to do with it. Often, we end up using that gorgeous fabric on the back of a quilt where nobody sees it. Do I hear nods of agreement?
In this design, you can cut significant pieces of the feature fabric, to preserve all that loveliness that you fell for in the first place.
- As I mentioned, choose a largish design to enhance the block. If you choose a tiny print it will be lost amongst the strong colours that surround it.
- Choose a feature fabric that has many different colours (at least 4 or more)
These are some examples, from my stash that would also work well:

Some examples of feature fabric choices for Snowbirds quilt pattern
You will need a background colour and two highlight colours. If you are not sure how many colours are in a fabric, check the fabric selvedge (selvage) for colours:

I hope you have fun with this pattern. I enjoyed making it!
