“Constellation” Quilt Pattern

$AUD 11.99

Inspiration comes from many different places.
On a clear night in the Victorian High Country, the stars are everywhere. There are bright stars, dim stars and the Milky Way.  I have attempted, in this design, to capture the mood of that fantastic experience.

Description

I loved designing and making this quilt because it is like a giant jigsaw puzzle. Cutting the pieces is pretty straightforward but putting them together is more of a challenge. The pieces are sewn in strips and then combined to form large sections which are then sewn together.

When choosing colors for this quilt, make sure you have enough contrast between the background and the stars. Good alternate combinations might be pairing green background with purple and pink stars, purple background with orange and yellow stars, dark blue on a dark blue background with white and yellow stars.

Whatever your choice, this quilt can be a terrific stash buster because you only need a 3 ½ inch square to include it in the quilt.

Alternatively, you can focus on one favorite fabric designer. My alternate quilt is made using Lotta Jansdotter fabrics with a bold design. I threw in a few additional grey/white fabrics in the background to supplement.
