Description
The inspiration for this variation of my popular “Stained Glass” pattern came from seeing the unique Art Panels sold by Turtle Hand Batik. These Art Panels are individual hand-painted works of art created by Malaysian artisans. I then moved my thinking in a different direction and used an African print to make this version. This design would also work well with hand-dyed fabric pieces.
The design maintains the artist’s interpretation while putting your own spin on it. The cutting is in a particular order to keep the overall integrity of the panel. The design intention is to appear as though you are looking at a scene through a “framed window”, with the sashing providing high visual contrast to the art panel.
