Description
I chose to pick up some of the bolder bits of colour in the fabrics to complement colours in the central Kookaburra panel.
When you get the half meter of fabric with the panel, there is a second panel on the other half of the fabric. I chose to use this on the back of the quilt creating a quilt that looks good on either side.
This pattern is suitable for any large scale print. The alternate colorway shown in this pattern uses bright African animals for a completely different effect.
Skill Level: New to Intermediate, rotary cutting and basic sewing skills

Materials (provided by you):
- 1 – large scale print, approximately ⅔ yard (70 cm) Panel measures 20½ x 23½ inches. This quilt used the Banksia Bloom, Kookaburra River panel by Saffron Craig
- Variety of different orange fabrics totaling ¾ yd. (75 cm) for the flying geese
- ¾ yd. (75 cm) white fabric for flying geese
- ⅔ yd. (70cm) light grey
- ⅓ yd. (35 cm) dark grey
- ¼ yd. (25 cm) blue print
- ½ yd/ (50 cm) binding
- 1¾ yd (1.75m) backing fabric
- Batting: 42 x 54 inches
All quilt patterns have been test quilted to ensure accuracy.
