I will be taking my Quilting Fabrications shop to the Geelong Patchwork & Quilters’ Guild 2018 Quilt-in.

I’ll have my fabric collection of African, Malaysian artisan batik and hand dyes for sale. Also my latest patterns and some creative kits. Something for everyone.

The Geelong Quilt-in is always a great day. Come along and say hello….

I’m very happy with how this bag turned out. But since I’m not an expert seamtress, this took me much longer than I anticipated. For a bag with such simple, classic lines, there are a surprising number of pieces to measure and cut. I think it was well worth the effort though.

I wanted to use fabrics from my stash, which included a directional/large print that I used for the bottom. This meant o had to make an adjustment to the pattern (I couldn’t cut that piece so made the lower part of the bag a solid piece). However, using the instructions and measurements was absolutely what I needed to make my first bag! It turned out so cute and I gave it as a teacher gift.

Paint Chip Tote bag pattern

It’s rare to find a quilted bag pattern that looks modern, functional, easy to make that looks nice, and was so happy to come across this pattern. I haven’t make the teardrop design yet, but I had a couple of scrap quilts that I wanted to try, so I modified the size but followed the instructions on lining, handles and construction and it was so well written and clear. This was my first quilted tote and it was so easy to make, I added a worm on it just because I wanted it to make me laugh. Highly recommend and I will be using the pattern a lot to make other bags, thank you 😊
