This year’s Houston Quilt Festival is celebrating their 45th anniversary with a spectacular “Sapphire Celebration,” including a special exhibit of gorgeous blue-and-white quilts suspended from the ceiling! There are also numerous special exhibits, something for everyone..
This year I have three Open Studio demonstrations on the main floor. If you are attending Houston Quilt Festival stop by one of my demonstrations. Below is my schedule, come along and say hello.
Open Studios
Thursday, 2:00-4:00 PM
Quilt – Using Shards of Color to Lift Your Quilt, with Leslie Edwards
Friday, 2:00-4:00 PM
Paint/Embellish – Boro’d from Japan, with Leslie Edwards
Saturday, 4:00-6:00 PM
Stitch/Sew – Walkabout Stitching, with Leslie Edwards
If you’re wondering what Open Studios is, it’s just as it sounds! Located on “Main Street” in a specially constructed area, there are four open access studios available for attendees to watch quilt and fiber artists work right in front of you.
The four studios, Paint/Embellish, Stitch/Sew, Create, and Quilt, run simultaneously throughout the day, with artists teaching in two-hour increments. Every two hours, new artists are rotated in, allotting four sessions in each section per day (two on Sunday!).
When I’m not demonstrating, I will be on-site at the Turtle Band booth. Drop by to discuss your quilting project.
